Victoria mill and Corpo Bridge Framed Art. Original Art by BYGO
Great Grimsby’s surviving flour mill, Victoria Mill. Built in 1873 producing flour which was distributed across the U.K., it is now the second tallest building in Grimsby. The mill overlooks Alexandra Docks with converted luxury flats at the front of the heritage building.
In front of the beautiful Victoria Mill is the great showstopper of Engineering Corporation Bridge. Built to take traffic from one side of Grimsby to the other in 1926. It was opened by Prince of Wales, late King Edward VIII.
These two great landmarks are the remaining icons of a hugely prosperous time for Great Grimsby during the hay day of the fishing industry where our fish was shipped off to all over the UK and Europe.
Still as impressive as they were back then!
